David Trotter of Marysville was named to the 13-member Lamb Board by the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture. The board is comprised of feeders, producers and handlers and develops markets for lamb products.

Seven Floyd County high school seniors have been named semifinalists for National Merit Scholarships. Nearly 16,000 semifinalists have been named. Winners will be annouced next summer.

Hill Disappointed with FEMA's Appeal Denial Decision: Working on legislative fix for future disasters
(Washington, DC) - Congressman Baron Hill is extremely disappointed with and frustrated by the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) decision to deny Indiana’s appeal for disaster assistance because of severe storm weather experienced in early August. Hill Votes to Further Protect Hoosiers from Unfair, Abusive Credit Card Company Actions
(Washington, DC) - Today, Congressman Baron Hill voted to accelerate critical reforms that will protect Hoosier consumers from the abusive practices of the credit card industry. By moving up the start date of much of the Credit CARD Act, the worst practices of credit card companies will be limited before the full law takes effect. The Credit CARD Act implemented tough regulations on the credit card industry and empowered consumers by equipping them with the tools they need to manage their own credit.
