David Trotter of Marysville was named to the 13-member Lamb Board by the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture. The board is comprised of feeders, producers and handlers and develops markets for lamb products.

Seven Floyd County high school seniors have been named semifinalists for National Merit Scholarships. Nearly 16,000 semifinalists have been named. Winners will be annouced next summer.

Hill Urges Applicable Constituents to Claim Undeliverable IRS Refund Checks: More than 1,000 refund checks remain unclaimed in Indiana

(Washington, DC) - Congressman Baron Hill is encouraging those Ninth District residents who are owed a refund from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and have not yet received it, to check with the IRS on the status of their case.  Most of the holdups occur due to address changes.  In fact, according to the IRS, more than 1,377 Hoosier taxpayers are due to receive a combined $1.3 million in the form of refund checks that were returned to the IRS by the U.S. Postal Service due to mailing address errors.  ... view more

Hill Votes to Extend Unemployment Benefits, Homebuyers' Tax Credit and Business Tax Relief to Stimulate Local Economy: H.R. 3548 was passed by the House Thursday and signed into law by President Obama Friday

(Washington, DC) - Late last week, Congressman Baron Hill voted to stimulate the local economy and provide stability to American families hit hardest by the recession by extending unemployment benefits, the homebuyers’ tax credit, and tax relief for military families and businesses. The Emergency Unemployment Compensation Extension Act, H.R. 3548, will provide immediate assistance, extending relief to millions of workers, families, and businesses nationwide.
