No Pay Raise for House Members
Hill a cosponsor of Stop the Congressional Pay Raise Act

(Washington, DC) - Due to overwhelming support for the Stop the Congressional Pay Raise Act – including Congressman Baron Hill’s cosponsorship of the legislation – the leadership of the U.S. House of Representatives has decided to block next year’s automatic Cost-of-Living-Adjustment.

“I am pleased with this decision,” Hill said.  “Our constituents are largely not getting pay raises, so neither should we.”

Hill is an original cosponsor of the Stop the Congressional Pay Raise Act.  The legislation would block the automatic pay increase Members of Congress were set to receive next year.  And, Hill was an original cosponsor of H.R. 5087, which would have blocked the automatic pay adjustment for this year.
