(Washington, DC) - Congressman Baron Hill is pleased with President Obama’s decision to declare the Ninth Congressional District counties of Clark, Crawford, Dubois, Floyd, Harrison, Jackson, Jefferson, Orange, Perry, Spencer, Switzerland and Washington as disaster areas because of damage incurred by the severe winter storm of January 26-28, 2009.  With this designation, federal funding is now available to applicable state and local governments and certain private non-profit organizations on a cost-sharing basis.  

“I thank the President for his swift action on this issue,” Hill said.  “Many homes and businesses in Southern Indiana were really hit hard by this winter storm and need some federal assistance.  As always, if my office can be of help in any way, please do not hesitate to call.”
