(Washington, DC) - This morning, Congressman Baron Hill held a conference call with several Southern Indiana hospital leaders to discuss the America’s Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009.  Hospitals from all over the 9th District were on the call.  In response, Hill issued the following statement:
 
“I would first like to thank all those who took time out of their busy schedules to be on this conference call.  I found it quite productive and will take a lot of their comments and concerns directly to my colleagues on the House Energy and Commerce Committee.  We are scheduled to begin markup of the health care bill this afternoon.

As I’ve said before, the health care reform debate is transpiring rapidly.  And, I want to make sure folks back home are aware of what is going on, and that I hear directly from them about any concerns or policy suggestions they might have.  I got excellent questions and legislative ideas from our area hospital leaders.  I value their opinions and those of the thousands of Hoosier employees they represent.  I plan to continue speaking with such groups that will be directly impacted by health care reform legislation.”
